Fungi are the unsung heroes of almost all terrestrial ecosystems. They are the small benefactors of humanity, silently working for our survival on Earth. Their importance is huge! Just imagine that without them we would not have the bread, the wine or beer and many other products that make our lives more delicious. Nor medicines we take to heal ourselves. Their underground societies are the “Internet of Nature”, ensuring the balance of natural ecosystems. What can we learn from the lifestyle of these unique organisms?
