Day 1: CAP video blog in Greece

I recently found out that as a European citizen I pay huge amounts of money for the EU Common Agricultural Policy. This happens so I can have enough and cheap food. However, today in Greece we import the two thirds of our food, and our children are the most obese in Europe. Our countryside has been dying out, but due to the economic crisis young people are interested in it again.

Which are the challenges for young farmers in Greece today?

How does the economic crisis affect our food and nutrition security?

What are the impacts of agricultural production on our environment and landscape?

Greece has stopped suddenly… Can it jump-start again through its countryside?

I am on a journey across Greece to meet and discuss with young people about the future of our food. Stay tuned…
